PNG is transparent at 2000px wide. SVG is a single welded path with absolute coordinates and a physical width of 6 in, so Cricut Design Space and Silhouette Studio import it at size.

Using the Shell Lower style

Shell Lower works best on short, bold words. Start around a Bend of 0.5 and adjust until the shape reads at thumbnail size. The Horizontal and Vertical distortion sliders add a perspective taper on top, the same way Photoshop's Warp Text dialog does.

This style cannot be reproduced with CSS alone, so the code panel gives you the baked SVG path. It renders everywhere, including email.

Elsewhere this effect is called: Photoshop: Shell Lower.

Frequently asked questions

How do I make shell lower text?

Type your text above, keep the Shell Lower style selected, and move the Bend slider. Then download PNG or SVG, or copy the code.

Can I cut shell lower text on a Cricut?

Yes. The SVG export is a single outlined path with a physical size in inches. Upload it in Design Space, and it appears at size and cuts exactly as previewed.

What is the Shell Lower warp called in Photoshop?

The same shape is Photoshop: Shell Lower.

Is it free and private?

Yes. Everything runs in your browser, nothing is uploaded, and downloads have no watermark.
