How to curve text in Cricut Design Space: three methods compared
The built-in Curve tool, the Warp tool, and uploading a curved SVG. What each is good for, and which one to use for shirts, tumblers and signs.
Design Space has two built-in ways to bend text, and there is a third that avoids the software’s quirks entirely. Here is when to use each.
Method 1: the Curve slider
Select a text layer, and in the top toolbar find Curve. Drag the slider left to bend the text upward, right to bend it downward. The letters rotate along the arc but keep their shape. This is the fastest option for a simple arc on a sign or a round tumbler decal.
Limitations: one arc only, no arch (upright letters), and the curve resets if you edit the text afterwards.
Method 2: the Warp tool
Desktop only, and you may need to enable Beta. Warp offers arch, flag, wave, bulge and more. Use it for the varsity look on shirts. Read the full Warp guide for setup, and the fixes if the cut comes out straight.
Method 3: upload a curved SVG
Make the curved text in a generator, download an SVG, and upload it. Design Space treats it as a shape, sizes it in inches, and cuts it exactly. This is the only method that gives you identical results on a Silhouette or a laser cutter too.

Set the width in inches when you export, and Design Space will not need any resizing.
